This doesn’t have to be a huge purge. Baby steps. The hardest part is getting started.
If an item no longer fits, either put it in the donation pile or in the trash. No more hanging onto an item hoping to lose weight.
Take that opportunity to look at the clothes that you did not wear last winter, odds are you probably won’t wear them next winter.
Create two piles of your clothes. One donation, clothes that are still in fair to excellent condition. The pile is for trash, clothes that have wear and tear.
For every new piece of clothing you purchase, remove one from your wardrobe. If you were you come home with three new shirts, get rid of three that you don’t wear before putting the new shirts away.
Another great tip is to put all your hangers facing in one direction. When hanging a piece of clothing back up, turn the hanger in the other direction. At the end of the year, give away the clothes that you haven’t touched. This is a simple tracking system to help you visually see which items you have not touched this year.
