Hey Ya'll, It's Fall (Almost) - Blog Article by Brittany Huey

SHOW ME YOUR FALL DECOR

Who's already pulled out their fall decor? Let's be honest. Is your living room furniture covered in an excess of 'Hey Ya'll, It's Fall' throw pillows? Sadly, my decor is lacking, but I wish to live vicariously through you. Share your pictures of all things buffalo plaid, ceramic pumpkins, and spice-scented candles that you've placed thoughtfully around your home. I aspire to have a pinterest-worthy home one day that looks like Hobby Lobby exploded perfectly under my roof. Until then, I will simply enjoy the smell of my seasonal baked goods, as I shamelessly plug that pre-orders for my annual homemade pumpkin rolls kick off on October 1st!

It's eerie how quickly the year has snuck by us. I feel like we were just lighting fireworks and celebrating the 4th, and now, here we are in late September, just shy of the official fall season. Store shelves stocked with sweet treats, the smell of cinnamon in the air, the endless demand for pumpkin spice anything, and families spending Sundays in front of the big screen ready to watch the game.

OUR FALL IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT

The difference here in Florida is that it's still hot enough that you don't need a bonfire to roast marshmallows; just step outside. Unless of course it's late afternoon, then steer clear of the outdoors because instead, it's time for our daily torrential downpours that are the seabreezes colliding. Somehow I feel as though these are perfectly scheduled, awaiting that moment when I arrive to pick my child up from after school care. These storms almost never fail to find me without shelter or appropriate footwear. As I make my usual shortcut to the front of the building, in what is now soggy sand, I sink deeper with each stride. You would think, as a real estate agent, after showing homes in all locations at varying levels of livability, I would have already learned to keep a spare pair of shoes and come better prepared.

WHY WE LOVE THIS SEASON

Come rain or shine, we all have our reasons for loving this season. For me, this is when I'm gearing up to participate in some of the community-wide events, such as school supply and food drives, costume contests, and trunk or treats, as well as, also taking time to enjoy my own family outings and fall festivities. Just like all my other mamas out there, I too have to get my annual photos of my little one in the pumpkin patch.

YOU'RE IN FOR A TREAT

Stay tuned for my 'You're In For a Treat' blog article releasing soon. It will include a list of local events around the county and maybe even some contests or giveaway opportunities. Until then friends, take care.
