Find The Perfect Agent To Sell Your Home

Man talking with a couple.

It’s no secret that selling your home is a stressful process. Luckily, that doesn’t mean it can be hard. Everything about selling your home is the ultimate definition of an “emotional roller coaster”. It all boils down to choosing the right agent for the job, an agent that can maximize the value of your home and relieve you of unnecessary stress. Nothing in this world is perfect, but if you can get as close to it as possible when it comes to choosing a Real Estate agent then that’s a win. Nowadays, Real Estate professionals can be very persuasive. Just because you found one agent whom you seem to like, doesn’t mean they are right for the job. Before you pull the trigger when selecting an agent, make sure they are qualified & suit your needs. That being said, here’s three tips to choosing the best agent for you:

#1. Ask your close ones

We all know somebody that has bought and/or sold their home. Ask your parents, friends, Spouse’s Friends, Co-Workers and/or Service Providers to see who they used for their Real Estate adventures & why. Find a time that works best for the both of you and pick their brains out.

#2. Go Agent 007 mode.

Drive around neighborhoods & look for “For sale” signs, find the agent that you see most often. Those are the ones that are most active in your market and do a quick internet search on them. Or save the gas and google “Real estate agent near me”. A couple hundred will pop up so look for reviews, blogs and even their social media appearance. You can tell one’s level of professionalism & attention to detail by browsing to their site or social media pages. If it’s not well together or looks like it was set up in the 90s, keep looking. They probably won’t go above & beyond to get your property sold.

#3.  Interview, Interview, Interview

Find three or four agents that you see potential in & interview them. Yes, you don’t have to choose the first one. Yes, you can easily say “No Thank You” and move on to the next.  Here’s how Tip #2 leads to this one, pick the agent that’s best put together. Get the best bang for your buck, don’t just focus on getting the lowest commission rate possible. Here’s the three main questions you want to ask when interviewing a Real Estate Agent:

  • How long have you been selling Real Estate?
  • How are you going to market my property?
  • How can I get the most value out of my property?

The one that best answers those three questions, will be your best shot at getting your property sold.

There you go, that’s generally the rule of thumb you want to follow when choosing a Real Estate Agent to sell your property. The best thing is that by reading this article, you’re already ahead. You’re doing research & learning so you’re confident when it’s time to make a decision.
